about

A Valentines gift to you, from Sister Midnight. A heartfelt cover of Coven's 'Blood on the Snow'-from 1974.
Originally recorded by the band Coven, from Chicago, Illinois-in 1974, the title track of their 3rd LP. You should all know about the infamous Coven by now…If you don’t, start googling. You should know by now that their 1st LP from 1969 ‘Witchcraft Coven-Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls’ is an absolute heavy rock classic and a pricey vinyl collectable.

A few Key points:
1-The first track on the LP is entitled ‘Black Sabbath’
2-The bassists name is 'Oz Osbourne'.
3-This LP was actually released 7-8 months before the first Black Sabbath LP.
And that the bands biggest success was actually a middle of the road pop tune ‘One Tin Soldier’ used on the soundtrack of the hit 1970’s film ‘Billy Jack’, and not a Satanic/Occult rock epic. But again, you should already know that by now.
It would seem logical to cover one of the many amazing, Proto-Everything songs from the 1st LP, but that’s also a bit too obvious.
Instead, 'Blood on the Snow’ was chosen because it rocks, plain & simple and features the vocal duties of our first female guest ‘Sister’ singer Amy.
Also a good excuse for a sloppy Guitar solo(s) and plenty of Cowbell, performed by our 2nd guest Sister, Mr. Ginger Vitus.
